I have had my Rubicon for a few months now and been waiting to get a few skid plates under the vehicle before I toke it out. Well a few thing didn't fit and a got tired of waiting. Me and my wife had a few days off so Thursday seem to be perfect day to go down flagpole since we would have the whole trail to are self to take your time and explore.

It has been a 4 to 5 years since I have done this trail and was amazed on how it has changed. I don't remember ever seeing it so over grown. If you care about your paint this trail may not be for you.

Now it still a trail that can be done by any 4x4 but at one time a car could drive the road. Possible since dry river and Dictum Ridge are now closed all the traffic has moved to flagpole.

I won't bore you more with more on how things have changed and just post some pictures of my stock jeep for my own pleasure. I will the 4:1 transfer case is awesome. The dam thing mostly walk up and down the trail on its own.

Damn! Looks awesome and FUN! I wish I had stuff like that where I live. Haha. Dallas sucks for off roading. Closest I get is driving down muddy roads and highway embankments to get to fishing holes.

It's not close. About 2 hours of highway driving to that area.

When inspecting my vehicle today I noticed that the stock gas tank skid is not that strong. There is a small dent in the skid. it is only on the skid plate and not the tank.

I love Flagpole!

I'm surprised you banged-up your skids so much on that trail, unless it was solely from that last obstacle? A Jeep with stock lift can do the whole trail without dragging if you pick the right lines.

Possible. There was obstacle I went over closer to the being of the trail. Really any 4x4 can flag ploe. I put a lot effort in trying to test my new vehicle.
Here is a video of wife driving over the ledge.
