Project-JK Mojave Desert Exploration 01/04/08
JeepCacher, his family and ours hooked up a day before the Project-JK Goler Wash Manson House Run to do some sight seeing in the Mojave Desert and these are few pics from our excursion....
Looking for a cut across to the Randsburg Mining District, we found ourselves atop a radio/cell tower peak with a great view....

Here we are making a stop at the Randsburg City Jail...

Saying hello to the inmates...

A shot down Main Street...

JeepCacher showing off the new book that he bought at the Randsburg General Store...

Shot of the amazing radio active vegetation they had growing in town...

Paying our respects to Major Michael Adams, USAF (the first in flight fatality of the American Space Program) at the X-15 crash site...

Getting ready to head over to the Trona Pinnacles...

Group shot of Andrew, Josh, Alison and Timmy at the Trona Pinnacles...

Everyone checking out the inside of a Trona Pinnacle...

Alison and Josh showing off the geocache they found at the Trona Pinnacles...

Shot of our JK's at the Trona Pinnacles...

Gunship overhead saying hello...

Alison, Josh and Timmy climbing around on some old railroad cars...

Shot of Josh on top of the railroad cars...

Nights shot of the railroad cars...

Last but not least, a shot of some sleep aid medication that SDMF picked up after the outstanding steak dinner we had the Indian Wells Brewing Company...

Is there a book that you know of that would have all the cool sites out in the Randsburg and Goller Wash area? I am Pres. of a SMALL club and not at all familiar with this area but your pictures are great and I would love to have a club run up there. Do you know of a book or map that would have all the info and coordinates? Thanks for the help,Paul.

The Cobra picture is pretty cool! I work for Bell Helicopter in Amarillo, TX and I helped build that bird! I've been working on the H-1 since the first went down the line. Looks like you had a good time!
