Project-JK NorCal Slickrock & Deer Valley Trail Run
With moochie and Dwitko up in Tahoe this week, WOLette and I decided to do a last minute mid-week run to show them some of the outstanding trails that NorCal has to offer. Specifically, we were going to take them out to Slickrock as it is by far one of the prettiest trails in the area but then also decided to run Deer Valley as well as our group was so small and was able to do both in one day and with ease. And, to give these guys a nice warm welcome to the area, both MBATF and wildandwilling were kind enough to join us for the ride. Anyway, here are a few pics from our 2 for 1 trip....
With the mosquitos out with a vengence this year, MBATF takes steps to ensure he's protected from them before heading out.....

After several attempts at take a line closer to this tree and almost smacking into it, moochie decides to take a more agressive line down this ledge....

Taking a break for lunch at the end of the Slickrock trail....
Having finished Slickrock so quickly, we decided to do a reverse run up Deer Valley as well. Here's a shot of Dwitko making his climb up the start of the trail....
Here's one of moochie flexing his way through the start as well....
Further up the trail, WOLette getting some crazy flex on some big rocks in her way....

Making our way across the first of two water crossings....
Dwitko slowly fording his way through the second water crossing which was considerably deeper. Good thing he had a 3" lift and 35" tires!!
Here's a shot of moochie making his way across. Again, anything less than 3" of lift and 35" tires and you might be bringing on some water....
Making a stop to check out the snow and the breathtaking view from the top of this ridge as we made our way back to the highway and back into town....

This was truly an awesome 2 for 1 trail run and I'm so glad that both moochie and Dwitko were able come up to play. Special thanks goes to MBATF and wildandwilling for joining us on this run and for helping to make the visiting SoCal guys feel welcome here.
