Project-JK Takes lil' Nemo out on the Rubicon!!
So we get a call last week from Off Road Evolution asking us if we wanted to join them on the Rubicon and cover their attempt at the Little Sluice. Unfortunately, there was no way that we were gonna be able to take Moby Dick being that she's out of commission and so, if we were to go, it would have to be in lil' Nemo. With 4" of lift and 35" MT/R's, lil' Nemo is pretty capable but being is open front and rear and running a standard transfer case, we did have some concerns but, not enough to keep us home. Needless to say, we went, had a great time and found that even with the minor amount of mods we have on an otherwise stock X Unlimited, a JK is outstanding on the trail and will do great on the Rubicon. Here are some shots from our trip....
At the Loon Lake staging area getting ready to hit the trail....

Working our way through the Gatekeeper....

On top of the Granite Bowl reading to make our way across....

Off Road Evolution flexing a bit on their way down....

lil' Nemo giving it go as well...

Ali following us up and out of the Granite Bowl in his TJ....

Off Road Evolution hitting some big rocks near Ellis Creek....

Making our way across a big rock on Walker Hill....

Dropping down some big boulders near the Soup Kitchen....

Off Road Evolution tackling the Soup Bowl....

Heading down to the Little Sluice....

Off Road Evolution conquering the Little Sluice....

You can see a bunch more pics of Mel going through the Little Sluice here:

Heading down the Big Sluice....

No room for error here....

Off Road Evolution taking a much harder line with ease....

While we were planning to camp at Rubicon Springs, once we got there we decided to just finish up the trail. Here is a parting shot from the top of Cadillac Hill....
