Default Rausch Creek 4/12: Fun Morning, Not So Fun Afternoon

Met up with Jay Are and a TJ (Dan) from the Rausch CreeK Forum, after waiting a while for Dan's friends who were running late we decied we would hit the trail without them.

We warmed up on Trail 1a then crossed over to Trail 2 and played on some of the rocks and I did the steep hill near Frog Hole, it was really slick due to the rain the night before. Jay Are tryed but just couldn't quite get to the top before he lost traction with the staock AT tires.

We then to Trail J down to the West Property and did Trails 15, 12a & 12b. We then met up with Dan's friends who had finally showed up and headed to Trail 10 where the day got bad for me. We made it through the first mud hole but then I ended up getting stuck in Milkshake and I was finally pulled out by a fullsize Ram pickup but in the process ended up sucking mud up into my clutch.

Dan stayed and helped me get out of the park while the rest of the group headed out for some more fun. It took 5 hours between the time I got stuck, got pulled out, winched myself to a spot that we were finally able to get a fullsize Bronco to tow strap me back to the staging area.

Here some pics from the day.

Almost made it over

I know how he feels, it wasn't a fun way to leave the park.

Great pictures...Why did you need to be towed out?

I sucked mud up into my clutch trying to get out of the mudhole because the Ram wasn't able to pull me out without me putting it back into gear to help him out.

He broke down in tears when they were loading the Jeep on the tow truck, I don't blame him.

The worst part of the whole day was having to call my wife to tell her she needed to drive 2 hours to come pick us up because I broke my Jeep.
