Default Stock jku rubicon on the rubicon?

Anyone do the Rubicon with a stock JKU Rubicon? I know it's a very capable platform but would like to hear some real-world experiences. Not just on the Rubicon, but any other hard trail.

I'd love to do some gnarly stuff but I'm not into rock pinstripes and such.

In theory it can do the Rubicon….but not suggested!!!

When the say on the disclaimer "THERE WILL BE DAMAGE" take them at there word.

I did it with a 2.5 lift & 35's and did bend a sway bar disco and scratched crap out of my wheels.

It is a great trail but it is rock crawling for miles and miles non stop!!!

Have fun

It definately can be done but it will be very challenging. I did it this summer in a 87 YJ with a 3" lift, 33" tires and a rear locker. All I can say is thank god for under armor protection. The only part I had to winch was Cadillac hill.

Great question! I was just doing some research on the Rubicon and Moab trails yesterday for same reason. Guess you beat me to it!

I did the Rubicon with a 2.5"OME lift and stock Rubi rims/tires. I have a 2 door and went with the Jeepers Jamboree this past July. I made it through without major damage but scrapped the bottom on every rock. 3 Fenders were bashed and the rear bumper had minor damage due to bouncing off the rocks. No scratches or body damage. I never had to winch or get pulled but they stack a lot of rocks for you on that trip. If you go, go with this outfit. They are awesome and they will make sure you and your Jeep completes the trip no matter what. Also, be smart, pick lines, use spotters, take it slow, don't try to prove anything, have fun.

It will take MUCH longer to complete, and I would HIGHLY advise a winch, or a friend with a more modified vehicle. Unlimited have a hard time due to the longer wheelbase. So extra lift and larger tires help a lot.

Is this the "old" Rubicon or the new and "improved" Rubicon that is smoother?

He means the trail itself, not the vehicle.

The trail does have several sections that are much easier now. But this is only certain sections.
