three trees vs. a unlimited rubi
not a good day out at barnwell mountain today.
to make a long story short the rubi was headed down "chaos canyon" and was climbing over a tree root on the driver side, as the front end dropped off the root thats when all hell broke loose. apparently the brakes failed because the jeep just free rolled down the hill bouncing off a few trees before finally coming to a rest on its side. i watched the whole thing happen and it was horrible and terrible. i knew something was wrong, the owner is a good driver and has been doing this for a while, right when he came off the root and the jeep just went straight down the hill.
the driver was ok and he had three boys in the jeep with him. one of the boys ended up with a staple or two in his head and the other boys were shaken up but ok. they all had their seatbelts on ......which in reality probably saved their lives. somebody was sure looking out for them today. everyone is ok and really thats all that matters.
every one that was there today who lent a hand through every process of the initial carnage to the recovery......were all class acts. i would be proud and honored to wheel with any of you again.
i just wanted to post these up and to tell everyone to be safe and always, always wear your seat belts.

Sorry to see that. Hope they figure out what made the brakes fail so the rest of us can double check ours. Glad everyone got out ok. I hate to see that kind of carnage.

Glad to hear everyone is OK.
I'd be curious to hear what you find out about the cause.
It was something more than brake failure. With the Jeep in gear and if the transfer-case was engaged it would've never "free-wheeled" like that, enough to do that type of damage.
