Nice to see others that believe part of the adventure is getting there. The group I run with all drag 'em on trailers including a few TJ Rubicon Unlimiteds that could easily make the trip on their own rubber. Wimps... although I have to admit I don't think I'll do Alabama to Durango and back in a CJ with a soft top again.
That was a looooooooooong ride. A week in the mountains of SW Colorado was worth it.

This video gave me an idea. 
I should make one for our trip to Camp Jeep.
Now all I need is a camera, film, (card) and someone to shoot it. Then would need someone to do all the video work. Heck what are you guy's doing in July?
