I just ran stock shocks. Never had problems and knew I was changing it later. I had some pretty bad wear on front tires and didn't keep it for that reason. In my opinion, put the 285s on it and save to do a proper lift. You can find good used ones on here every so often. There are people who have said they didn't have bad tire wear but mine stopped as soon as I lifted it basically the same amount but with lower control arms. Or you might be able to find a set of adjustable control arms for budget lift.
