Default 35" Tire options for the stock 17"Mineral Grey wheels??

I am picking up my new Freedom edition on Saturday. I was going to put some BFG 35x12.50R17 on the stock mineral grey wheels, but I am told they are too wide. I will be putting on some wheel spacers.

So what options do I have in the 35" tire size? My preference is an All Terrain this time and was going to go with the ATKO2 from BFG.... I will be putting the Teraflex 2.5" lift on.

Thanks in advance for your help!

IIRC, stock wheels should be 17x7.5. Countless people have installed BFG 35x12.50-17 tires on the stock wheels. As long as you're running spacers, you shold be fine. The tires will fit on the wheels just fine; the sidewall will just be further out from the wheel face than with say an 8" or 9" wide wheel. Not a bad thing, as that keeps you from rubbing the face of the wheel against a rock.

I went to a local Discount Tire Store and they mounted Goodyear DuraTrac 315/70/R17 on my Factory Willys Wheeler Wheels. Goodyear DuraTrac measure - 34.4” X 12.7” and weigh 60lbs. Also I already had Spidertrax 1.5" Black Wheel Spacers installed and DT had no problem torqueing them to 80lbs and mounting the new tires and wheels on my 2014 JKU 2 weeks ago. Do not go cheap on Wheel Spacers purchase Spidertrax or Alloy.

Did you happen to open the " Center wear Nitto Trail Grapplers " thread? Might be some good info...

But as others have said, lots of people run 35's, and even 37's, on the stock rims. If that's what you want, and your shop won't mount them, just find another shop that will.

I just put a set of 34x10.5 17 bfg ko2 on my wife's 2 door. They really look good on her factory rubi wheels.

I run the same tire in a 37 12.5. Discount tire won't mount a 12.5 inch tire on a stock 7.5 inch rim. It is against their policy.

That is a really sharp jeep man. I love the color and how it's set up.
