The wife's (Yes really! Was an Anniversary present - replaced her '02 trail-built TJ Sahara) JKUR Recon works great with 35's and 4.10 gears (I've got a "well-seasoned" '74 CJ-5 w/AMC 304, T-18A granny, roll cage). As a VET (myself also), she specifically wanted the military style stars on the doors, Warn winch, and the LED light bar.
We have a lot of deer in the area, so the Maximus stinger is additional front-end insurance (since the JK grill is 100% plastic). We went with a dealer-installed Mopar 2" lift and factory 4.10 gears to remain qualified for the FCA lifetime service contract. Why Coopers (?) well, we've have had several bad experiences with BFG truck tires on our diesels.
This is a good gear chart if you are still debating gears and tires ( Jeep Wrangler JK Gear Ratios ). The 35's and 4.10's, with the 3.6L Pentastar and 5-sp auto, work great for us at 5,500 ft altitude.
