Default $19 Reverse Light Solution!

Went to purchase rock lights from Walmart yesterday and noticed a few other lights they had in stock. I read the Platinum Burner lights were very bright and were super cheap so I decided to buy a set of 2"x4" along with my two sets of smaller rock lights. It came to $60, not too bad! Comes with all the necessary wiring, switches, and fuses.
Here is the box for the 2"x4":

After re-sealing all seams with silicone, I pre-drilled a few holes and then installed the brackets with sheet metal screws (the ones supplied are not strong enough to tap into the chassis)

They're not wired yet, I will post when they are along with a review on how I like them.

And here are the rock lights to be installed sooooon! I covered all seams with silicone.

Do you have them wired to work when in reverse or did you choose to use a seperate switch?

No, just going to wire to separately to a switch. I mostly need it for backing up on trails... or blinding the dude riding my ass on the highway cuz I can only go 65-70

Finally got around to wiring up my lights this weekend. They work great at night, wayyy brighter than I expected. These can also be flipped around facing forward for a 'rock light' effect.

In all spent $19 + $8 for a new switch. Installing lights and running wires took a total of 1 hour 15 minutes, taking my time.

I basicly wiped down the underside of the frame where I was planning on mounting, then applied the light bracket (sticky pad included with kit). Then, drilled 1/8" pilot holes then screwed into place. Grounded to bracket to rear bumper. Wires were fed up through the compartement where the stock jack is kept. There is a small plug, I noched it with utility knife, replaced it and sealed with silicone. All the wires from there, were easily run under the carpet on the drivers side of the Jeep. Power was directly connected to battery with fuse supplied. Connect to switch, and thats about it. These came with great directions with diagrams to follow as a guide.

Real easy to do, great weekend project.

Very nice, What I'm interested in, is how long they last? I've had VERY bad luck with walmart bulbs lasting through bouncing etc.

Sorry for the crappy phone pics in advance...

Installed rock lights yesterday in front & rear wheel wells. I turned the reverse lights to face the underside of the rig. Very satisfied with the build. $60 for lights, $20 for switches, $12 for beer, and about 4 hours.

There's one more check on the list... Next is the 1.25" RC body lift on Saturday!
