Default $25 Dog Harness

Here's the harness I made to keep the boys in the back when the windows or the top is down. 1-piece of 1" webbing wrapped from roll bar to roll bar. 2-Lockable clamps, 2-old dog collars, and 2-Xlarge -- K9-seat belts.(they were $24.95 each). I wrapped one side of the webbing around the bar, then put a water knot in about over the headrest, then another water knot over the other headrest. Then wrapped and tied it off on the other bar. If you only have one dog, 1 water knot in the middle should do. Then take the clamps and put then trought the water knots. I then found 2 old collars to lower the point of attachment for the dogs. These guys can lay down when they are tired.
Any questions email.

Nice harness, and those are some beautiful dogs.

Also the decal you have on the side, very unique!

The best thing I ever used was a T-shaped wire rope with plastic coating that I got from a pet store several years ago. I had a Tacoma at the time and had my dog ride in the bed.

Here's an ASCII illlustration:

P. SIDE

D. SIDE

The asterisks are adjustment points. Basically, the premise is that you adjust the lengths such that the dog cannot fall of the side. It worked great.

The harness looks good. And the dogs are amazing, I also have a German Shepard. Owning a german shepard is kind of like owning a wrangler, we are a very proud group of owners, they just seem to command a certain amount of respect and looks, kind of like a wrangler. I was hoping you might post a close up of the decal, and perhaps a link as to were you got them.

Thanks

I have a 2 door and i removed the rear seat since i always have tools and no passengers in the back. My Pit Bulls both wear a harness so i just got a couple short leashes and some clamps similar to what the OP used with his setup, and just blamp them to the ring in the floor board where the rear seat is suposed to go. Works perfectly and its the best alarm system iv ever had.

Also, soes anyone knof of a company that makes nets for the rear and side windows?

Man, I miss my Sheltie...

She'd have loved to ride in the JK...and this rig would have been perfect for that...

Nice mod!

I like your set up but I hope you cover the sharp edges of the brackets/ hinges of the fold down rear seats that are exposed to your "kids" legs, I never fold the seats forward for that reason, my lab seats in the rear seat and buckles on to the regular seat belt....

I usually have a painters tarp over the whole back. It's bungied around the headrests and the rear roll bars.
