I did mine with four 5mm UV pre wired LEDs for 12V. I wanted purple, these were the closest. They are not hard on the eyes either at night. Also, I painted the inside of my vents so the lights would have something to reflect off of. Did my bezels too while I was at it. I used Krylon fusion Hammered silver for plastics. My foot wells are next on my holiday break 'to do' list.

Man I love the in vent lights... I may just have to do that in red along with the rest... I'm thinking 2 switches, 1 to kill it all when driveing at night if I don't want it and one to turn just the mood lighting on without any other lights (drive in movie/camping setting)

Well thanks for the write up
Thought I would give it a shot on my wife's and my jeeps, did it in red as you can see...
Worked out pretty good,,, took about 1/2 hr,,,,the pic shows more reflection than in person, not to bright, but bright enough to light up what was dark...
Total cost, just under $10.00![Clap](https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/images/smilies/clap2.gif)

I have read through this thread and noticed that a lot of you guys were saying that they are a little too bright. would adding a small dimmer switch to the wiring and mounting it behind the dash help out? you would be able to set it the way you wanted and still dim all the way with the dash lights.
Also, my wife forced me to go to Big Lots the other day to buy some fall/halloween crap for our yard and I saw these strings of LEDs. they have about 10 lights i think, strung up like christmas lights but run on 2 AA batteries. these are the smallest LEDs i have ever seen. have to be like 1mm or 2mm. they came in white or blue and were $2 each. I think I will test them to see if they will run off my jeeps 12v wiring. if so...could be pretty cool. Any thoughts on this?
