Not really I helped my friend install his on his JK, just got to be very careful with the cut only took us about 30 minutes to install it, I'm getting the AEV hood so I don't have to cut.

Yeah that's odd? If you already had the money AND it did some good why take it out?

The CAI does help and sounds/ looks cool. Only a few HP and MPG gains, but It definitely helps more than a snorkel as far as horsepower RIPP showed video of the dyno tests on another thread. That DIY snorkel might be a different story for HP compared to the "Long Straw" snorkels. The snorkel is effective for what it is designed for, but it cuts down on the available air. The CAI helps keep temps down and allows the engine to breathe better, but a superchips will give you more HP for about the same money.

My Cai was just too Damn loud, especially when pulling my pop-up, my wife and I had to use hearing protection. I'm also getting about .5-1 mph better.

So which is better ? . . . CAI or Snorkel , besides the snorkel being used for playing in water and mud . . . And what are the benefits for the superchips considering they are like three bills . . .

If you're looking for performance and power don't look to the snorkel. I have the aev snorkel and I love it but you will see ZERO effect on power, throttle response, etc.
