I recently got hit by a deer in the drivers side rear door and I was wondering if a repair would hold up on my very pot holes dirt rod that I live on or if I should push the insurance company to replace it. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you and Happy Mudding!!
That's what insurance is for. I'd press them for repair, or replacement. They'll likely want it evaluated before the adjuster decides replace/repair. Good luck!
If that door wasn't damaged as well, and if it was a normal black top, I'd say you could attempt a repair, but the total damage looks bad enough to just have insurance deal with it. Have had some buddies fix black hard tops, but they're a bit easier than a painted top like you have.
edit - I think I misunderstood the question. You're asking if the insurance repairs it, if it would hold up. Are they trying to just offer a repair? I'd think that would just be a straight up replacement.

Yeah the insurance company said they could repair it but I’m afraid that where the cracks are, if I tweak it off road or just going down my dirt roads, is gonna pop and crack again. So, from the replies on my thread and others I’ve read, I’m going to push for a replacement.
