Preparing everything for grill mod. Using galvanized gutter guard from HD. 5 coats of semi gloss. Dilemma with 1 inch squared. Wanted to take original adhesive off, what a pain. I decided to freeze them for 30 minutes. I used a razor blade to lift one corner and to my surprise it peeled off clean. Froze 50. 45 came clean by just peeling off.
Try freezing them first. Good luck.
I decided to use glue gun. As a test I glued one to my plastic toolbox. Placed small amount on bottom then after pressing it on the box I laid a bead on all 4 sides.
Looped a tie through and gave it a yank. I put a good amount of force into it and I could not get it to pop off.
I had all the glue sticks already so returning epoxy.
I'll post some picks as I begin putting it all together.

Re-did several of the mounting blocks today. As others have experienced the blocks tend to pull away from the foam mounting pads. Hopefully this will be the last time to mess around with it!

Thanks for posting! While re-doing some of the mounting blocks today I got to thinking what my JK would look like with a black grill. I think yours looks great! Although, I think I would prefer an OEM grill instead of plasti-dip.

Did the grill mod on mine this week and I'm happy with the results. Definitely take the sticky tap off the mounting pads before gluing. Gorilla glue worked great and I let it set overnight. It does make it easier if you use it sparingly or you'll have to scrape the excess off the pads to be able to get the zip ties to slide through. I also found it necessary to trim the 1 inch pads slightly to get them to fit in between the grill openings on the back. I used the exact parts from Home Depot listed by the OP. Great job helping us all out with that.
