Default DIY half mesh top

ok ok..i don't have any pics yet so don't tell me with the little guys, lol.

after reading one of them members diy mesh top, i decided i wanted to do it too. before i went through with it though, i decided to try to my handy work on making a half mesh top, for the rear passangers of my unlimited. you know how your freedom panels only cover the front people, well my friends will like having some shade in the rear. by making this one, it showed me what i'm going to have to change when i make to big one.

ok, so when you have your freedom panels on, you can see the area where the screws screw in. i decided to use the two screws as an attachment point. i then added 4 more attachment points on the corners (more than like will add one or two more in rear, depending on flapping).

took the mesh stuff and cut to size (can't recall right now, lol). folded over the ends twice for strength. sewed the front and back parts twice and sides once (cuz we ran out of thread). then just installed groumet. took about 30mins.

i don't exspect this thing to last too long, it was really made so i can see what i gotta do for the next one. plus it will be needed saturday for the beach.

got the mesh stuff at HD, groumets at HF, and bungies at Wallie.

pics coming sooooooon

the yellow circles on the sides i have bungies... i would go ahead and put two more where the yellow circles with arrows are at. this would reduce flapping and keep the top off the head of adult passangers.

What section is the mesh stuff at HD? I've looked all over with no luck, been wanting to do this for a while except for the whole top. Thanks!
