Default door storage

CHEAP solution for door storage. Did not like putting my doors against the garage wall when not in use for fear that they would fall. I also was not too keen on the idea of hanging them through the window opening.
This solution cost under $4.00 ( Home Depot ) and they are very sturdy when hung. Simple lag eye screws rated at 120lbs ea 1/4" x 3 1/4" long. Thread them into a stud so that approx. 1 3/4" is sticking out at the farthest part. The eye screws are 12 1/4" apart. I need to add plastic/rubber washers to the door studs to protect the paint. I couldn't find any rubber coated ones in this size. The larger the better....just keep the "eye" opening close to the 7/16" stud size. These are actually 1/2" openings. I mounted them every other stud in the following order from left to right... passenger rear, passenger front, drivers rear, drivers front. Enjoy!!

Default Sag?

What's the chance they will sag with all the weight being supported on just one side? I would want to rig up a support on the latch.

thats about as simple and cheap as it gets huh, great idea, but agree I think it will need some support at the hinge side to keep it from sagging over time, but im sure there is a simple and cheap fix for that too.

Great Idea. How bout dipping the bolts in the rubber grip compound you can dip tools (i.e. plier handles) in?

I see that 7/16 ID Eye Bolts are available and would probably support better than the 1/2 and no paint chip issues on the hinge. I would guess ACE hardware should have them.

Are the Screw/stud combo holding up well? Great Idea, love it, just not sure how it holds up over time. Thanks for the ideas!
