Currently on my way out to the garage to remove and drill my mirrors. Carry on.
They already had a weep hole, they just decided to cover it with a gasket....

..Oh and don't forget that it adds 1.5 MPG..... per side.

Drilled mine last weekend. I haven't washed her proper since, but judging from the rain we got last night, the results will be favorable.

At least I can't hear the water sloshing around inside the mirrors.

Just finished... Great post and idea! Thx! Water didn't come rushing out, but it's been dry here the last couple of days for a change. I have come home from the car wash, wiped the spots they always miss and noticed the ever-present streak coming from the bottom of the mirrors.:confused:

Kept wiping it off and it'd be there the next day. Stumbled on this thread and now makes complete sense!

This has to be the cheapest, best, quick mod out there! Thanks Rubimon! Took me only a few minutes!

Sidenote: using my Dremel seemed a little easier to control than a larger hirky drill, as one poster mentioned... in spite of the faster RPM's. Used another tapered grinding bit (I think) to clean up the holes.

Took the drill to my mirrors today. Such a great idea! Haven't had a chance to run water through, but I'm sure I will soon. Took the mirrors off before drilling and found quite a bit of grit inside. Must be from hitting those mud puddles...

Finished washing my jeep today, and like you have all said, and water just continues to drip down the side of my doors...

So i decided to drill my mirrors! I didnt have a drill handy but i did have a tool box handy with some super sharp and skinny screw drivers. So i just pushed really hard and just kept spinning until it went though (really soft plastic).

Out came a ton of water! Thanks guys!

We all must think alike. Several weeks before coming across this thread I did the same thing. No more dripping. Seeing the pictures is like looking at my own mirrors.
