Scuffing is a must for best adhesion.
Duplicolor also makes an adhesion promoter that is clear.
spray it directly on the metal before spraying the bedliner.
do multiple coats, not thick ones for the most durable coating.
My front bumper will endure vines, brush, mud, etc....but scratches with large branches.
