Cheers bros,

Heres to an awesome mod!!

Thanks!

The ABS will not function when this is performed.

Does the kill switch do the same thing as pulling the J6 fuse?

That's hard to tell because J6, J7, and M28 all feed the Anti-lock Brake Module.

I haven't tried it, so I'm taking your word for it.

So, my explanations is...
Under normal circumstances, when in cruise, and a wheel loses traction and begins to spin, traction control will cut cruise so the spinning can be stopped.
If you disable traction control and all the other ESP stuff with a total-kill switch, spin can't be detected, so the system won't let you have cruise control at all.

(I hope no one posts that they still have cruise control after actuating the kill switch, because that would blow my theory all to hell!)

The way you describe it makes sense with all the saftey bullshit the government throws at us. But the why would my Silverado allow cruise control but it didnt have traction control? Just a change in standards since 1997 or is jenx wrong?!

Does your Silverado have ABS? If it does, it can detect wheel spin without having traction control. I'll bet if you put it in cruise and lose traction going up a slippery grade, it will turn off the cruise control.

My '01 VW Golf had no traction control, (did have ABS, so it could detect spin), but it would kill the cruise if one of the drive tires broke loose going up a slippery grade.

I completely understand all the dislikes of the ESP system for offroad use. But out of curiosity, why on earth would you want to drive down the highway at cruising speeds with the system disabled? It really is a very nice system when traveling on slippery roads.

Lrarned to drive with no safety systems, can handle vehicles very well, increased fun and increased mpg.
