OR-Fab tire carrier install
Rubimon I am gonna steal your spare! Lock that thing up or it is gonna be gone. I had someone jack with the T screw while I was away from my JK the other day and man I am glad I had a lock to hold that bizzle in place. Of course I didn't realize it till I hit the speed bumps in the lot and the tire jumped up 2 inches....
I bought one of these from David at Northridge also and received it the next day. I am still trying to get my nerve up to do the install, but I may wimp out and pay to have it done.
Did you do yours without someone to help you with the lifting and positioning?
You can do it in little stages. It takes a little time, but there is nothing the average Joe cant do!
I would highly recomend a compressor for installing the hinge bolts. You will need a way to drill at 90 or in my case 180* angle
You can do it if you are fairly competent with tools but you will be cutting through the body. If drilling through the body bothers you ...get some help. If drilling through the body of your NEW JK does not bother you
...Seek a different type of help!!
I had the 12 inch long one. The package said 90* but someone upstairs was helping me out
If you try to use it at 180 have a very sharp bit to make it cut FAST....and wear gloves b/c the friction gets intense at that angle
