Default Gadget Mounts (Part 1 of ??)

Camera (Video or Still)

I’ll start out that I’m in a 12 step program to stop my addiction to gadgets. So far it hasn’t worked though.

Last trip out at Oak Ridge Estate for the VA4WD Annual Run, I shot some short videos of our trip. Worked out really well. Nice stable platform for shooting videos.

We’ve all seen the bracketron and accuvise brackets that are made to mount next to the radio on the JKs. I made a couple of simple mods to mine to make it more user friendly. 1st I added a button mount to the face of it so I could just drop my cell phone on it or the CB radio while off-roading. I picked that up off of ebay.

It gets a lot more interesting when you add RAM ball mounts to your vehicle for holding stuff. The Bracketron mount I have is drilled for the AMPS hole pattern. I ordered a few of the AMPS hole pattern RAM balls from GPS-city. Prior to receiving these, I mounted a regular diamond shaped RAM ball mount on the back of the bracketron mount.

Normally if my cell is on the bracketron, the CB is on another button mount mounted to the ram ball in the back.

For this trip I mounted a long arm and tripod socket mount to the back and put my Canon G9 on it. Worked great. You can do a search on YouTube for whetstonest and see some of the videos.

Wait for Installment #2 if you like the RAM mounts. There’s more coming, might as well order the mounts at one time and save some shipping $.

Here’s a couple of pictures of the mount.
