Think Dizzy Liz did. There were pictures of her changing it anyway. It only takes about 15 minutes. Take out 13mm bolt on oil pan, drain oil, replace bolt move catch pan under filter, remove filter with filter wrench, little oil put on the filter gasket install new one 1/4 turn past hand tight. Fill with 6quarts of 5-20 motor oil of choice,Oil cap on passenger side of motor, dip stick driver side. Crank and check for leaks. Let run for a few minutes let cool down and check level .Did mine today, longest part is waiting for the oil to drain through a funnel. Take that back, took me longer to type this.

Don't forget about resetting the oil change indicator. Turn key, push gas pedal 3 times in 10 seconds, start engine, do back flip over the seat, and exit the vehicle through the back window... or something like that. It is in the owners manual. May have to do it 2 or 3 times if you don't push the pedal fast or far enough.

I would be happy if mine did not come on the first time at 998 miles then every 2100 miles after that it starts telling me I need an oil change, The dealer has reflashed it 2 times for the problem

It wasnt standard on 07's, a few late model 07's got it added in, but all 08's have it as standard....

Hey dude, trust me. You will definitely want a funnel to pour the oil. Unless you want to smell burning oil for the next two weeks. NO, it didn't happen to me... why do you ask?

Default The most important thing

When changing your JK's oil, place the drain pan about 18'' to the rear of the oil pan. If you place the pan directly below the drain plug the first 2 quarts will drain behind the pan on your floor or driveway. This is NO JOKE....The oil flies out of the oil pan with great force.
