Default GPS mount project

looking for a place to mount my new magellan GPS and wasnt sure if anyone else had tried installing one of these things other than the windshield. trying to keep it off the windshield to avoid being V-01 (cop talk for victim #1). interested in whatever anyone has to offer. thanks!!

Misch makes a panel like the daystar that let's you put the gps there.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I wonder where the Ipod cable is going in the picture... it looks like they have a regular (non-mygig) head unit... Can the regular HUs interact with an ipod using a regular ipod cable?

I noticed that too. If that was the case I would have never replaced the stock unit.

I'll definitely be going with the Misch panel because it looks as though there is a shiny piece there to actually mount the GPS. Thanks Darks1de

I use the Bracketron mount. It doesn't necessarily have to be used for a GPS, but it works for me. Real easy to install, and the installation gives you a chance to remove the center console for other stuff.
