Heat transfer
I cut the weatherstripping from the back of the hood/cowl. Just the area behind the battery area. This leaves a nice gap for the heat to escape. So far I have not had a problem with the rain running in.
and your air box is in the front, so water won't get that far ahead......
I **Believe** it must be a 195 or maybe 190. I've added a scangauge to my jeep and I'm consistantly getting temps (once warmed up) between 197-203 degrees while crusin' and a *high* of 213 degrees while stuck in stop-n-go traffic for 1.5 hours
the plastic clips that hold it up melt and the fibreglass cloth shield falls over the engine and smothers the fire.
i tossed mine
became soaked and full of mud and started to rest on the engine.
dude that wouldnt smother a match
its for sound and nothing else
thats why it only came on the more expensive models
did you actualy think that the x model wont have an engine fire? or the people at chrysler didnt think it was worth it to put out a fire in an x??

The heat shield did come on the X, I have an 07 with it, while my friend's 08 X model doesn't. It was a line change on the vehicle if I understood correctly (i.e. some 07 models were made with, then design change during production / cost cutting, etc., they stopped putting them in). A lot of people have just been pulling them out, I will probably will when I get around to it.
