I wonder if you could mount the lights directly to the composite board? Looks good with the bar too, but I bet you could bolt the lights right to it.

I tried that before the bar and the bumper got pretty hot. Plus I kinda blocked part of the "beam".

I mounted mine directly onto the Bumper. Drilled 2 holes. There you have it. They are painted black - it's just the light that makes them look like that.

Here's pics of mine. 24" handle bar, mounted to plastic part of bumper which is reinforced with a metal bar.

Bumper still NOT sturdy enough, will have to use the mod with the deck composite (great idea), I recommend that to anyone with decent-size lights.

Still need to paint the hardware and hide the wires.

has anyone tried using a cut and re-welded 36" bar to 30" to mount it directly to the frame?

and what kind of metal are these made out of?
