Bumper looks great for a Homebrew!

You can tuck it up higher if you cut the framerails. That's what I had to do to install this poison Spyder bumper...

TCORUM - I like the bumper. If the tire carrier doesn't cover the tub ugliness, don't worry about it. Just hose it down w/ something black.

I first sprayed mine with Rustoleum undercoating, which left it a brownish color so I went back over it with flat black Rustoleum. Makes a big difference!

I also sprayed the factory muffler with high temp flat black. I ran no rear bumper like you for about a month and the muffler was a huge eyesore before I painted it.

For the OP you will probably want to spray the tub also. Makes a huge difference in making the bumper look integrated.

Before painting there was a bunch of tub and muffler glaring:

After it looks much better, even without the bumper. This bumper is very slim and doesn't hide much so the paint made a huge difference:

This thread inspired me!

I went out into the garage last night and in 5 minutes had that ugly POS plastic excuse for a bumper off. It looks SO MUCH better without it!

The only thing I want to do is cover up the frame rail ends with steel plates or a very short bumper that is just a little longer than the frame rail width.

I don't even mind the extra bit of tub that is showing. It kind of reminds me of my CJ-7 with the hitch mount. It's more jeep like now.
