Homelink garage door opener installation

I like the idea of the Homelink hardwired in.
Currently I have a visor mounted remote that I've soldered another 'remote' switch to. While it took a bit to get it right, everything seems to work fine.
Now that I see the homelink unit, I think I can do the same without having to use the buttons they provide. That way you could have the homelink brains mounted someplace out of the way, with just a remote switch to trigger it. I may have to go looking for one of these and see about modding it.

Yeah, that's my issue now; I just bought a Rubi and have power windows now, so I'm looking for somewhere else to put it in this one. Maybe the location in the post above this, though I had a couple other ideas..

I guess I'm confused by this. My Sahara had power windows, and it didn't inhibit the installation. I now have a Rubicon, and it is the same as the Sahara. Did they move the window switches on the newer models or something?
