Default Homemade Coldair intake

I am looking for somebody that has made there own cold air intake. I have tried to find directions on the internet, but so far I have not found quite what I am looking for. PLEASE ANYONE WITH A JK AND KNOWLEDGE THEY ARE WILLING TO SHARE!

before i could afford the banks ram air, i used a spectre pipe and slapped a filter on the end..seemed to work just fine, but the banks sounds better and has a box to shield it from water and dirt

does anyone know if there would be a noticeable difference between a cai (homemade) and a drop in afe pro dry s filter (which i have now)?

Default My opinion...

You dont need extra air, you need COOLER air. I would keep your drop in with the factory air box if you do allot of mud/water obstacles. You hydro-lock one engine and you realize a JK has different needs than that old CRX you used to have.
