Default How to remove plastic screws.

I was installing my new front bumper and could only get about half of the plastic screw thingies that hold the plastic parts to the bumper out. Instead of destroying them I used a long drywall screw. Use a drill on slow speed, put the screw in the middle of the phillip head of the plastic screw and drill until screw starts to turn. Now all you have to do is pull the drywall screw straight out and the plastic screw will come with it. This way you can also reuse it.

If you do break them, Lowes Hardware sells them for .29 a piece.

......and where is the pics of your bumper?

Thanks!!! Have to put that POS air dam back on. Figured I'd bring this back to the top in case any others are wondering where to get those frustrating little plastic screws.

Seems that I lost about 1.2-1.5mpg by ditching the POS. ONLY difference was that stoopid thing. Argh!

Same here. I had to put it back on. I lost about 1.8 hand-calculated mpg with that dam thing off.

i put my air dam back on but with ZIP TIES so its easy to just cut off. Those plastic screws piss me off!!!

I do ALOT of highway driving, like near 50 miles a day then trips on the weekend so it makes more since to keep it on even if the save is minimal because its a free part, not like i have to buy it
