In post # 4and 5 I explaned my fix for the fender rattle.
Materials
- Hole saw 1.5"
- SS scrap sheet metal. Mine is .105" thick
-2 nutserts M6x1.0 threads
-nutsert tool
-Drill
-locktite (blue)
-Drill bit for nutsert. My nutserts called for 25/64" bit.
Drill 2 hole in the SS sheet with the Hole saw. Keep the slugs. Inlarge the 1/4" hole (from the pilot hole) in the slug to 25/64". Install the nutserts in each slug/homemade washer.
Take off the factory (if it is still there) plastic nut, Put some locktite on the new inner finder holder threads. install.
Cutting out the slug / washer

install the nutsert in the 25/64" hole.

installed. Make sure you use locktite or the nuts will come unscrewed.
