Default JCR bumper wiring lights

So just got my crusader back from powdercoat.
I need to wire up the cube lights but I want them to work as reverse lights only. I had an organ with LED lights before and have tapped into the jeeps harness previously to do this. However not sure how to wire them up. The plugs have two wires from the cube lights and I only have one single wire that powers when in reverse. Do I use one wire for ground and power to the other?

That is how the organ bumpers LED were wired

You don't want to overload the reverse circuit. If the new lights don't use much power then yes you can just tap the reverse power and ground wires. Otherwise use a relay and tap the reverse wire to trigger it. Also, LEDs are polarity specific.

The cubes are 12w each. 4 bulbs @ 3w
I do not know the wattage of the oval bulbs that came in the orfab rear bumper. I never had a problem with them.

That's just 1 amp. I wouldn't bother with a relay.

That's what I was wondering. I'm sure a relay is a better way but as little as these pull I was thinking the same thing. Again, I'm no electrician

You could put an inline 3A fuse at the tap for each light as a safety measure. Wouldn't hurt.

I'll go up to the local hardware store. If they have one I'll get some

Any auto parts store would have them as well.

I still put a relay on mine. It's a little more of a hassle, but it isolates the circuit from the backup lights. Plus I wired mine to a switch that allows me to turn on the lights on demand, turn them off completely, or have the relay tripped by the backup lights.

All done wiring. I put an in line fuse between each light.
For anyone curious about which wire's hook to the reverse system, it is a white wire with grey stripe on my 2014. My lights came with plugs to wire in also, so once tapped into reverse system all I had to do was ground. Self tapping screws into the tub and easy peasey.

White with green is brake lights.
All that's left is ID like to get some plastic tube to put the wire in.

Thanks for the help
