Tell me you didn't use the "crunchy".

It's not a product, but I uses Krylon Fusion Satin Black. The problem is you need to either mask off the entire car or pull the fenders to do it. I just did my fenders over the past 2 days. I could have done it all in one day but I worked slow and took my time.

The photos are from today. You can see all the fenders off, I also pulled the mirrors, rear bumper, tail lights, and side steps. The door handles were left on the jeep and I used hospital sheets to cover the jeep. I a lot holes over the handles and then used take to fill in the space behind the handle and close the slit around the handle.

I've used the krylon in the past and it lasted over a year without noticeable fade. I finished after dark because I also installed the push bar pictured but will post day time photos of the finished job tomorrow.

Walmart had them for $4.65 a can and total I uses 4 cans.

I did the side trim on my 2000 XJ with that Krylon Fusion. Use a real good degreaser before you paint. A little prep work and that stuff keeps your trim looking like new for years

Don't use Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover to remove tar on your bumper. It will fade the black. Will 303 protectant fix it?

This is a good one to use too. All you have to do is wash your plastics and paint them. The Krylon Fusion already has adhesion promoter in it.

I did mine with the Trim Black about a year ago now. Still lookin new. Im sure the Krylon Fusion will gove the same results. Painting is the way to go IMO.

Another vote for the Kryon Fusion paint. I did the fenders on my 97 TJ a few years ago when they were seriously faded. Looked like new and lasted well through the salty winters we've had as well.

Plan to do the JK's fenders before winter, seems to be fading as well.

I used a substance called Penetrol.

You can get it from any Home Depot or Lowe's for $10 a quart. You can get a 3" foam brush for $0.99.

It works really well and you should Google it. Ill be sure to try to find some before and after pictures.

By the way, 1 quart is probably enough for keeping the fenders, bumpers, and mirrors black for many years.

In the meantime, while I get my own pictures together, here are some random images from Google from others using on their jeeps:
