So you could prolly spend between $30-$40 to make one ! compared to picking up the phone and shelling out $800 I think I would rather use that $750 on something else that I can't make myself
I agree, this looks good and hopefully comes out cheaper than buying the whole setup, the only thing that worries me is that my DIY skills leave much to be desired, and I end up buying something pre-made in the end. Keep up the good work!

Any more updates on progress? How did you decide to attach it?

You gotta have a ton of patience to put one of these together yourself.

This is a great idea. I'm gonna have to try it out this summer.

Come on, only lasts for about a year, . And $800 for COP, I think you can make several on your own at that price.

i like how it connects in the spots where soft top goes in. and like $120. great price. idk, i might be a tester on this one for you guys. cause from what i see, i like it.
If it only lasts a year return it's got a 5 year warranty. For $120 bones seems like a good deal to me. I would be game to try it out.

ok, I have been thinking a lot about this, making my own cargo netting,
I think cargo netting looks sweet on a jeep,
I noticed that the price for per made cargo netting was off the chart, way too much

so I have a few questions.

1. what thickness and width is the strapping you used?

2. what distance is each strap apart from the last? oh reading back found answer, 3 inch cheers.

3. How do you attach it to the roll bars? details and pics help.

4. will it hold the weight of a person laying on it like a hammock?

5. do you attach it only from roll bars, what about the bottom near the floor? for the side sections?

6. what sort of pattern do you use for the sowing?? like a square or a x, did you grommet first then sow?

7. will a normal sowing machine work?

8. do you use extra thick thread and needles? or just the regular stuff you would use to sow clothes? and if so.

9. will standard sowing machine handle extra thick thread and needles to make the whole rig stronger and more hard?

10. also why not have a grommet at each point the two straps meet, wouldn't that look good?

11. can you post the length, and width for front forward part as well back section and side sections?

looks good, both of them. Been toying with the idea of making one for awhile now when i get back to Texas. Need something to keep the dogs in with the top down. Always feels good to make something yourself.

As for buying a COP one.... no offense to them or anyone that has one... but there is no way in hell i'm gonna pay their price for it. And to be completely honest, i don't like the way it looks.

and I am also thinking about just ordering it from this guy, it's in Canada, and it looks to be exactly what I am after, except it does not cover driver and passenger area, just the back of the jeep, I am thinking covering the driver area too would be good.
I believe it is called dirty dog cargo net, and I hear it's ok but some don't like the grommets, is it the amount of them, or the color, what is it about them you don't like?
