That seems a little high in price, I had tubing added to my PJ bumper and my rails made all for $200.

This is a great idea about the added tube wish I had done it before I slammed my rockers into a rock. Just so everyone knows the flex is bad it means when you hit the rocker hard the whole thing bends into the body trust me I know. I think I will add tube and reinforce the mounts. Wish I knew how to post pictures..

I've got some ideas on how to reinforce them. I've just not had the time to do it. Maybe I'll work on them again soon and show the next stages I come up with.

I'm definitely going in that direction. When my neighbor moved he left me alot of Rubicon stuff, including the rails. Much cheaper to have them mod'd than spend $400 - $500 for rock rails.

Has anyone tried this mod with square tubing? That would probably look pretty cool. At least I think so!

I want to do this exact mod to mine. $150 seems like a good price. I contacted a local Craigslis* welder and he quoted me $215 complete and wouldn't budge because he said it would take him 3 - 4 hrs. Seems high to me.

3-4 hours? For what? Do the prep yourself! Shouldn't take more than 10-15 mins a weld. I don't think, anyways.

Seems high to me as well. I would call a few more for a quote.
