I am quite pleased also, I can't imagine crushing the naked can with either a rock or stump, I just don't wheel that hard(yet), but I heard of a guy who was just driving down a rocky dirt road and a rock got kicked up by the front tire and it busted the can. That seams more likely to happen around here.

There really isn't any front-to-rear bracing so I think that it will "fold" with a straight on impact ( that actually has me a bit concerend) but after looking at several others that are on the market none of them were either. I think that under normal "JEEPING" conditions this should do the job. Also if that kind of impact happens I think that more damage than just the can would occure; also I like the idea of giving the drive shaft some protection as well.

good point on the frontal cover, it will need to be removable because it slides on from the back to front, but it can be done .

as far as the frame bending.... theres an idea ...if it gets hit hard enough it will re-locate itself ....mabey into the rear cargo area....

Looks like some great work. I think DC was stupid for putting the darn thing there to begin with. It is right in the way of any debris that comes under the Jeep.
