Default My Soft Top Leak Fix

I have been battling the normal soft top leak now for sometime. Using electrical tape, I was able to fix mine. All you really need to to do is extend the weather stripping from the top of the door towards the front where the door meets the windshield. Below, I posted a picture what the door looks like before I applied the tape. The second picture is when I started to create the "add on" to the weather stripping. I put the sticky side facing in on both sides of the weather stripping. Then simply folded a few more pieces over the stop to thicken it up a little. Worked perfect for me. Now, I'm sure you can use other types of tape, thinner weather stripping, even sealant to accomplish the same thing.. However, this was my trail and error test and its been working great. I really wanted to post to pass along my idea and/or theory of just extending the weather strip a couple of inches. I believe keeping the add on thin and flexible is key to the fix. If anyone comes up with any changes or mods to this fix please I'm all ears. Good luck!

I was actually looking for something like that, what exactly did you use on your second pic?

I used electrical tape to create a very pliable wall. It's a less is more type deal. It shouldn't take much to redirect the water.. The problem I for-see with this fix is keeping the tape stuck to the weather stripping (in both heat and cold conditions) Make sure you start the outside piece of tape over lapping the weather stripping.
