My install was exactly the same as yours. Zip ties kept breaking and wouldn't budge the valve.

I replaced my valve today after reading thru this thread, I had to use the bolt, vise grips and screwdriver method, overall not too bad, this thread was a huge help. Seating the new valve with a socket was also very helpful. I used the NAPA part as it was cheaper, perfect fit. thanks to OP & all.

Let us know how the Napa part works out, and if it lowers oil consumption, if you are having that issue.

The zip tie trick eventually worked for me, although I broke quite a few ties. The old valve was actually a bit loose in the receptacle, which doesn't seem right to me. The new valve seems much tighter. I wonder if that is where the oil was going?

I have a 2010. Is the PCV valve a dealer only part or do the'10s not have one because the auto parts place by me doesn't even have a part number listing.

I broke a few zip ties trying to remove it from a cold engine. Figured I had cheap zipties. Tried again yesterday on a warm engine (vice-grips and screwdriver method) and it popped right out. I suspect it would have come out with zip ties while warm. The old valve seemed ok, at least it rattled when shaken. A few drops of oil were present on either side of valve when warm. (but none (on top or in hose) when I tried cold. odd ) 5.5yrs/61,000 miles. No oil consumption to speak of (average about 1/3-2/3 qt missing over 5-6k mile change intervals). Thanks, Ron!

I did an inspection on mine today as I have a bit of oil consumption. When I removed the hose I noticed the PCV valve was loose in the socket on the valve cover. The top of the valve was flush with the top of the socket

So as per OP I used a socket to "re seat" the PCV into the socket on the valve cover

It's now recessed in about a quarter inch.... Is this far enough? It felt right. No clicks or snaps when you push it home

Wonder if this loose PCV was the cause of the minor oil consumption?

I just did mine this morning. Here is the old valve.

It did cost me a new ignition coil and leads after a closer inspection.

Cool. Did you go with OEM coil and leads?

Source and cost? (If you don't mind me asking)

Are you planning to change the plugs, too?
