Replacement Velcro Staps for Soft Top
I found this stuff at REI. It is stronger than the factory Velco straps, and you can cut it longer to give you even more holding power.
And I used it to secure my wheel lock key to my tire iron.
I am going to use it to keep the seatbelts from flapping and to secure some of my gear in the back.

This company makes many unique "velcro" straps, etc. I have some of their cinch straps, grommet straps and the high temp velcro. Use it in the Jeep and in my RV. Not sure how to make it into a clickable link, but here's the site;

So, maybe I missed the part where I'm supposed to strap down the soft top????
Is this something we're supposed to do, or is it precautionary? I've never had a problem before

I know one time, i watched my soft top, while folded down, start lifting on the highway. I pulled over and had to re-fold it back down.

20. Once the top is fully down, use the straps used to
secure the top in the Sunrider position. Wrap the straps
around the side bows and through the slot on the
bodyside retainer and Velcroback onto itself. Ensure
that the top is secure.
This is on page 154 ('07 model, '08 might be a different page#) in that book that is in your glovebox.
