20. Once the top is fully down, use the straps used to
secure the top in the Sunrider position. Wrap the straps
around the side bows and through the slot on the
bodyside retainer and Velcroback onto itself. Ensure
that the top is secure.
This is on page 154 ('07 model, '08 might be a different page#) in that book that is in your glovebox.

I have 4 straps, 2 for Sunrider, and 2 to secure it when all the way down. That way the sunrider doesn't pop open and unfold when it's going up or down to the tailgate.
You could use the straps below as replacements. Available at Wally world/home depot etc. They can also used on the front hood latch as well with minor trimming. There is a thread on it. Search 'hood flutter fix'
