Interesting idea. I'd much rather have one in metal or plastic of some type though. Any chance that the gun can come out when slamming on the brakes?

Default What about...

Okay, I found some parts to actually hold the gun that are similar to yours but they are held by some type of 3M double sided tape instead of suction cups. Do you think I could just attach them directly to the top of the soundbar instead of using the plywood?

I wouldn't want 3M double side tape holding the gun above my head when i slam on my breaks... Just my oppinion the screws and clamps might be a little more secure...

I thought about mounting my gun mount brackets directly to my sound bar but I didnt have clearance for my stock and barrel to clear. That Is the reason I used the 3/4 inch plywood. And also wanted the option of removing it with no problems.(just 2 bolts)
If you can find something to elevate the mounts higher all the better IMO just make sure your rifle/shotgun has enough room.
And FYI I cut my gun mounts it came with 2 rifle option but there was no way I could get the other gun out of place with the top up.

All in all check how much room you have and or post up some pics and get more input

The shottie is firmly in place I added 2 Velcro straps to insure that.

That is really clean and nice! I like the way it is hidden from view......outta sight outta mind.

I have the Dual Top option and I can tell you guys it definitely won't work with the hard top since those 2 hole are what the big turnscrews hold the top down with and there is like no clearance between the hard top and the sound bar.

Default I'm in Arkansas...

I'm in Arkansas, so it's almost like an standard operating procedure here. The only thing said would be, "Hey, I like how you mounted that shotgun!".

My tactical Mossberg 500A wouldn't fit... Great idea for my .223's though
Someone should build a base for roof mounted .50 cal. that might be taking it a little too far though.
