My garage door doesn't seal that great. Warm enough to get the snow to melt though. Rootbeer works for me thanks too, r3cluse. The thing I'm kinda iffy about still are gears. I got quoted 2500-3000 today, from young's gear.. Ive got pretty good mechanical knowledge, but I've never done diff work before. By the way, my whole lift including bump stops and 4 bilsteins cost me 350 to ship.. I think my poison spyder rails and mbrp exhaust ran me around 180 or so. Expenses expenses lol

I called SixStates. They do have decent deals on Warn. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the tip! After the winch I'll be slowing down on parts for awhile... the wife is starting to give me the evil eye . After that I'll check out 4wheelparts.

I replaced the R&P on my old willys pu years ago. Up until then I hadn't done any either. All I was told was to put grease on the ring and rotate it. The grease will show you how the pinion is hitting the ring, and you can adjust it if need be. I would also imagine that by now there has got to be a video online somewhere of it being installed correctly.

4WD.com ships freight to Alaska as well. I'll be getting my Or Fab tire carrier and exhaust from them this winter.

No worries, I won't touch my diff gears. I'm not that mechanically inclined, way too much precision for me. Lift, exhaust, lights, body, moderate engine work, I can do though.

If you're driving around Elmo I'm the ahole that runs his blue LightForce 170's because it's perfectly freaking legal and I like the amount of light they throw. Also, my plate says "Jeepus".

I had team lance garage in eagle river do my gears. Dan Lance is a great guy who does awesome work and stands by it. I have put 2000 or so miles on since the gear/detroit install and everything is meshing great. You can buy the gears with master overhaul from northridge4x4 for $550 if you have 3.21 in the d30 you will need a new carrier which is $63 so we'll say $700-800 with shipping then $1150 for the install is what he charged me. Since the install I had a front inner axle seal leak and he replaced for free no questions asked. Also I know some of the guys in Alaska Extreme having experience with regearing.

Ya.....no doubt. My little girl is going to school at UAF and wife just told me it was -47 up there right now....

I live very close to a creek, so it's a natural sink hole. So I'm usually at least 10 or so degrees colder than in town. But this year has been weird.

Oh and guess what.......looks like I'm getting under the house again now. Just found out my water isn't froze but my well pump isn't coming on. Hopefully it's right where the water line comes up to the pressure tank which is under the house. I haven't had water problems for years. This year is a cold one. Must be all this global warming crap....eh?

Wish me luck....
