There is better (harder) obstacles at Long's than in the creek. When you get to the ranch house take a left. You will eventually cross the creek and pass another older ranch house. Go up the hill to the right of the ranch house. At the top of the hill take a left. At the next trail intersection take a left again. Follow the trail until it empties into the granite outcropping. Play there.

We drove around that area, but every trail seemed to peter out, so we turned around and went back. It sounds like fun. Any pics?

I drove around that area some on the Sunday before leaving, but I didn't find anything like what you're describing. I drove around more somewhat empty, grassy, heavily tree'd areas, crossed a 'crick' several times that was fairly steep but only dirt/mud, and never really ran into any of the rock stuff out that direction. Some of the trails I found that way were way less traveled and the trees got plenty tight to squeeze thru in a 4dr or the wider JKs. Was fun, but I guess I never found the good stuff out that direction.

Did anyone ever finish that GPS map they were creating of Long's?

and if you check out all the videos in my youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/n2rock ) most of them are videos from Longs. There's a few Spring Creek videos as well- just look at the descriptions and you'll see the Longs videos. There is a lot to do at Longs, you just have to travel around to find them.

Those look like the ones where we passed you taking a strap!!!!

Yeah, we saw the other ranch house and there is one big (tall) cropping back that way with a u-turn around it or by it, but it didn't seem to have as much to do as the walls and interiors of the creek. We drove all over that area and didn't came across anything beyond that.

The area I am thinking of has 2 climbs that are doable in a stock JK, 2 climbs doable in a stock JK Rubi, and easily half a dozen climbs that require lockers front and rear, 35" tires or bigger, and a complete disregard of concern about the beauty of your body panels.

The rock out-croppings we went on were SE of the main house. Behind the tank (pond) that was being dug. Here's a pic of our group up on one of them.

That is not the same place. The outcropping I am refering to has several climbs easily 20' high (probably much more).
