If you got the money to do all power to you and congrats on success but when you compare the price of the hemi to a 5.3l, 6.0l, 6.2l LS its insane to me but then again I might just be a fan boy and I'm missing something.
Most of the kits are for Hemi's and the homework has been done, but if someone had a sucessful chevy conversion that was priced better. I would give it a hard look for my horsepower.

- Home 5.3 LITER VORTEC ENGINE MOTOR DROP OUT CHEVY L33 SILVERADO 111K DROPOUT PROJECT | eBay

That's just a quick ebay search it would be even cheaper as the motech kit has all the hardware to reuse most of the 3.8 accessories and a complete engine isn't needed. Just a thought I know if I absolutely needed a v8 that would be the route I'd be going.

And I just realized your not the OP sorry for the hijack

You have to change more than the motor since the auto matic transmission gearing ratios is also part of the problem. Doing a full scale change out with a properly match transmission to the motor is a must. And yes 20K is a lot a money to a lot of people but I have worked my whole life and saved for my retirement with this being part of the reward.

Congrats!! Enjoy your retirement and your reward! I will enjoy living vicariously through you until I get closer to retirement and enjoying the reward. (I've got at least another 25 years of work)

Thanks, I languished over spending that much but decided that I just could not stand the V-6. They are only missing a couple of items now for the change out. The new radiator which should arrive within the next couple weeks and the motor. Chrysler has provided the information on the carrier but no tracking, so not sure where it is at this point.

Default Got Hemi??!!

I'm pulling the same trigger but doing it on the cheap. A couple of weeks ago I just picked up a 5.7 Hemi and transmission out of a 2011 Jeep Commander for $1, 000.00 on Craigslist. I'm now cleaning the engine and tranny up and replacing any broken parts, ordering my conversion parts from Hotwire Auto parts and getting this BADBOY installed before fall.

That was a great buy. Commend you for taking on the install, quite alot of work. Still waiting on some of the conversion parts for my install. May still be several more weeks. Hope you have a quicker turnaround for all the parts you have ordered.

I'm actually having a shop in Lampasas, TX. do the work for me, it's called TXPRO4X4 (Texas Pro 4X4) and the owner of the shop is Sean Fraughton. Right now he has the engine and tranny and once he replaces any broken or missing parts and prep the engine and tranny I'll drive back to Texas with a AEV conversion kit and assist with the install.
