Hidden Falls - 28-30 Sept (Houston)
I couldn't make it out last weekend, so my father and I are headed out to Hidden Falls this weekend and plan on wheelin all day Saturday. I've seen the pictures yall posted up and was curious if anyone has any suggestions and/or favorite runs yall did why out there last weekend??
Any and all are welcome join this weekend. Cheers!

I put together this video from one of the Hidden Falls trips from my friends camera. (I didn't attend, I just put this together)
Not the most exciting video, but you can skip around and see the sections of trail.

Turkey creek was a fun trail to do. It looks intimidating but easy to conquer, I would do that trail stock. Baby back was also fun, the only sucky part is that sections of the trail were closed

Thanks Sapper. How is the rating system? I saw that they trails are rated 1-6. Did yall run any level 5s? I mainly ask because I'd like to come home without a limp as my JK is my daily driver. Are there usually go-arounds?
Me and a friend were in another black JKU on Sunday, coming in from Austin. His rig was having trouble with some of the trails that were marked "4" just because of the slick mud. That mud was like marshmallow creme!
Even the stuff marked "3" that I have taken my stock JK on before (baby back, etc), I wouldn't have tried on Sunday. It was a whole different park with all that mud. My friend peeled off some small pieces when he tried to take a hill, went a little sideways and perched himself into a tree.
I lost my wallet when we were on the trail, and didn't know it until I got back to Austin. A very kind person named Philip from the Waco area called me and said he had found my wallet while wheeling on Sunday with a big group. Anyone know Philip? I gave him a $20 from my wallet but I wanted to say, it's really cool when something like this happens. I had already cancelled my credit cards by the time he called, but I wasn't looking forward to getting a new driver's license, new CHL permit, new work ID badge, etc. He had gone through the trouble of calling numbers in my wallet, of course none of the credit card companies would answer him, but my shooting range gave him my number (then they too called me, to make sure it was legit that somebody found my wallet).
So, thank you Philip, if I see you on the trails you'll get a six pack of whatever you want. My faith in humanity has gone up a notch.
EDIT: We also saw that Hummer and knew he was going to be getting help later

My bone-stock 2012 JKU Sport, with the slick-ass tires and D30 and no lockers, had no problems with most of the 3's when it was dry. There was a 4 I could have tried, but I didn't want to ruin anything just yet. I'll wait until I've put bigger and more grippy tires and a little lift on there.
The mud made the place a a lot different. It should be drier this weekend and shouldnt have the same problem i did. I really try not to do extreme trails since my JK is a daily driver and the only vehicle i have. The frist time i went I did ROyal Gorge (Rated 5 trail) in my stock Rubicon and only bent my exhaust pipe. The most damage i found so far from my recent trip was my front diff cover. You will be good, trust your jeep and have fun.

Most places will have a bypass. 3" lift with 35's can do most if not all level 4's without bypasses and most level 5's.
At least that has been my experience. There is one level 6 and my buddy in a CJ buggy with 42's cannot run it.
