Something to think about... the 21st is MLK holiday. Kids will be out for a long weekend. Don't know if that will effect the beach traffic or reservations but just a thought. Will anyone have kids in tow? Just curious, if it's going to be more of an adult time I think I can make arrangements for someone to keep them.

Oh, Skoalman and the rest of the guys...anyone coming that has a winch? I am 2 wheel drive only but have lots of experience driving in sand. I've got the tires for it & I have a tow strap. If there is a group of us maybe it won't be as much of a problem "when" not if I get stuck. It's ya'lls call, if me coming will be more of a pain than a pleasure I can sit this one out!

I say come on down and have fun...you probably wont even get stuck. Brains and nerve beat out equipment and stupidity all the time....and airing down.................

You watch tho, knowing my luck...it will either snow a foot, or the water will be up into the dunes that weekend.

 

I think we might go, we will probably just do the day thing. What time are you guys going to the beach. I will try to coordinate the SA guys to caravan down. I think we have several interested.

Hey Skoalman, what time are you thinking you want to leave Crosby so we can give a Sugarland "meet" time to the others.

Skoalman mentioned this website in an earlier post but wanted to post a shortcut to the 4-wheeling page(I was snooping around on the PINS website-getting jazzed up about the trip.) Lots of good info for the seasoned as well as the nubie wheelers. So check it out if ya get the chance.

Also I wanted to suggest if anyone has two way radios to bring them. Cell phones could be hit and miss, that way if we get separated for some reason, or someone wants to stop and take in the sights we will still have another communication opportunity. I'll hand my extra one out to whoever.

 

If Im not at work I might make that trip .... the 19th is the monster truck show and I was planning on taking my son there ....


Make sure you have a full tank once you get to the beach ...... It sucks running out of gas there ...

Well, ya'll are not going to believe this, but I did not go to work today.

First time in 14 months that I called in sick. Went to the doctor, and it turns out I have chicken pox. CHICKEN POX!!!! 46 years old, and I have chicken pox. And no kids. Was it just waiting for me to walk by and then pounced, like some kind of tick??? Sheesh....

Anyway, enough about my troubles...back to the trip.

I always like to get on the road early.....how about 7:30am in Sugarland at the HEB.....and take off at 8am for the drive to CC. That should put us in CC at 11 and we should have sandy tires by 11:30 or so..a little later if we want to stop for lunch and top off the tanks beforehand in Corpus. That will give us about 5 hours of daylight, and we won't have to drive back up the beach in the dark.

And if any of ya'll know a good chicken pox cure, besides a Glock to the side of the head, please let me know.............

 

Let us know where to meet you, it looks like we plan on the sand by 11:30. I am not sure where yall will come into Corpus from Houston if you know a spot we can meet let us know, if not we can meet you at the 4 wheel drive sign on the beach.
