LESSONS of a noob!
It also didn't help that my storage unit was jammed full, so it was not easy to set down.
The one thing that ticked me off was i scratched the passenger side tub rail! FML! any advise on some sort of flat black tub rail coverings???
any help is appreciated!
Looks like Rugged Ridge made them for the TJ but no JK?

Man who are you telling. To the looks of it you have a two door, I took my own off the first time by myself. Struggle is something short of what I endured man. And you know what's funny, for me it's gotten heavier every time. I used one other person the next and it was heavier, and then two other and the same thing. A hoist is on my to do list.
Attachment 365020Hey had the day off today so i figured, ehhh I'm a decent size guy hard top removal should be a breeze! Not as easy as i thought. My logic was Egh it cant be as heavy as the old CJ-7 we had growing up! its was quite cumbersome!

I remember taking my hardtop off on the 2 dr was a bitch before I built a hoist in the garage. Somebody posted up a soution using some slide rails to do it by yourself a couple years ago, think pvc pipe or rollers to slowly slide it down to the ground. But I couldnt find that thread; however, I did find the following which might be helpful.

no offense, but it doesnt takr much to do it yourself w/o a ****ershade. It DOES scratch the bed rail, but aftter the first couple, who cares? just remember to walk it with your hands and when you move it, lift the rear hatch surrounds with the glass up.
Oh, and bedline thr bottom edges of the top.when you do your bed rails. it prevents chipping.
