Default Iowa off roading clubs

So has anyone in Iowa thought about getting into a club?

I would like to, but I currently only have a KJ, and I know it isn't the most trail worthy (even though it has a trail rated badge ) but once I get a JK in the next few months hopefully, then I will join one.

Where are you located in Iowa? I live in SE SD and am looking to do some off roading. I am in the process of finishing the mods to my 08 4 door Rubi. I will be bringing it back to SD this week from WA. Just bought it.

The club that Jeepin Jason is a part of seems to be based out of the Des Moines area.

That is correct but we have members all over the state. We're not the only club, theres the Jeep Outdoor Club of Central Iowa (or JOCCI), Central Iowa 4 Wheelers, Make It Or Break It, Trailhogs, Tall Corn Cruisers, Explorers, and a couple others I cant think of right now. Most of them are based around Des Moines but theres really no restrictions on where you live when it comes to joining. The reason why I'm asking is because all the clubs will be really active this upcoming year and we all need members. We've been fighting for years now to get a state run park for full size off road vehicles similar to what ATV's have right now. We have some stuff coming up in the legislation that will hopefully help us out. Right now in the Iowa Association of Off Road Clubs we're getting some events planned to get people aware that we're out there and its really worthwhile to join. Theres alot of benefits to being a member of a club. The club I'm mainly with has access to some private off roading grounds which is really nice since theres nowhere else to wheel here. We have monthly meetings at the Okoboji Bar and Grill in Johnston. We also have discount programs with several local stores and also one major nationwide vendor of jeep upgrades. I urge everyone, not just here in Iowa but nationwide, to please consider joining a club. Our sport is starting to dwindle and the best way we can save it is by joining together.

I was thinking about joining next January. It sounds like my Jeep will probably become a 2009my though due to all the delays, etc... so I would have to wait a while to actually get it and use it.
